Orange Cardamom French Toast

A delicious mix of citrus and spice, this french toast is perfect for festive holiday mornings.


    French Toast
  • 2 Eggs

  • 1/2 C. Almond Milk

  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp. Cardamom

  • 1/4 tsp. Ginger

  • 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

  • 1 Loaf Canyon Bakehouse 7 Grain Bread

  • 1/4 C. Butter

    Maple Orange Sauce
  • 1/4 C. Maple Syrup

  • 1/4 C. Butter

  • 1/4 C. Almond Milk

  • 2 TBsp. Fresh Orange Juice

  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon

  • Orange Zest


  1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, almond milk and spices.
  2. Heat a large skillet or griddle and add 1 Tbsp. butter.
  3. Working one at a time, coat each slice of bread with the batter on both sides before adding to the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, flipping mid-way through, until golden brown.
  4. To make the Maple Orange Sauce, melt ΒΌ C. butter in a saucepan with the maple syrup, cinnamon and orange juice.
  5. Whisking, slowly add the milk and bring the mixture to a low boil. Simmer the mixture for 1-2 minutes and remove from the heat.
  6. Serve the French toast stacked and topped with sauce.
