French Toast, Four Ways

Ingredients

Toast Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/4 C. Milk
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Loaf Canyon Bakehouse Gluten Free Heritage Style or Mountain White Bread
  • 4-6 Tbsp. Butter, divided

Topping Idea #1:  Pear-ing with Cheese

2 Tbsp. Ricotta cheese
1 Pear, thinly sliced and grilled
1 Tbsp. Ginger syrup
Mint sprigs, for garnish

Topping Idea #2:  Honey, let’s enjoy some Chocolate

2 Tbsp. Greek Yogurt
1 Tbsp. Honey
2 tsp. Pecan halves
2 tsp. Dark Chocolate chunks
Sea Salt, for garnish 

Topping Idea #3:  Sunny with a side of Bacon

2 Bacon Slices
1 egg, sunny side up
1 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
4-5 Blackberries 

Topping Idea #4: Peach-y Morning

2 Tbsp. Ricotta Cheese
1 Slice Prosciutto
½ Peach, sliced
Rosemary Sprigs, for garnish 

Directions:

1.)    In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla, milk and cinnamon. Set aside.
2.)    Heat a large fry pan or skillet on medium.
3.)    A half Tbsp. at a time, per slice of bread, add the butter to the pan or skillet. Once melted and just bubbling, immediately coat one slice of bread with the egg mixture on both sides and add it to the pan. Repeat for each slice of bread and set aside.
4.)    To serve, add topping combinations to single slices of French Toast as desired.
