Ultimate Brioche Smash Burger

Grill up the ultimate Smash Burger with perfectly seasoned, crispy-edged patties, melted cheddar, and a tantalizing smash sauce, all nestled on a gluten-free Brioche-Style Hamburger Bun for an irresistible, mouthwatering experience.

Ingredients

  1. 1 Pkg. Canyon Bakehouse Brioche-Style Hamburger Buns (4 buns)
  2. 1 lb. Ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  3. Salt and pepper to taste
  4. 4 Cheddar cheese slices
  5. 1 Large onion, thinly sliced
  6. 2 Tbsp. Butter
  7. 4 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
  8. 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  9. 1 Tbsp. Ketchup
  10. 1 Tbsp. Pickle relish
  11. 8 Pickle slices
  12. 1 C. Iceberg lettuce, shredded
  13. 1 Medium tomato, sliced

Directions

Prepare the Onions:

  1. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Smash Sauce:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, ketchup, and pickle relish until well combined. Set aside.

Toast the Buns:

  1. Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cut the Brioche Buns in half and lightly toast them on the griddle until golden brown. Set aside.

Cook the Burgers:

  1. Increase the heat to high and let the griddle or skillet become very hot.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and roll each into a ball.
  3. Place the beef balls on the griddle, then immediately smash them flat with a spatula or burger press. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the edges are crispy and browned. Flip the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assemble and Serve:

  1. Spread a generous amount of the smash sauce on the bottom halves of the toasted Brioche-Style Hamburger Buns.
  2. Add a layer of shredded iceberg lettuce on each bun.
  3. Place a tomato slice on top of the lettuce.
  4. Add the cooked patties with melted cheese on top of the vegetables.
  5. Add caramelized onions and pickle slices.
  6. Spread more smash sauce on the top halves of the buns and place them on top of the burgers.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
