EGG SANDWICH WITH CARAMELIZED RED ONIONS AND HERBED CREAM CHEESE

Caramelized red onions can be as satisfying as bacon and especially delicious when added to fluffy scrambled eggs and herbed cream cheese on toasted 7 grain.

Ingredients

SANDWICH
  • 4 oz Herbed Cream Cheese
  • 3-4 Eggs, scrambled
  • ½ C. Caramelized Red Onions (see below)
  • Canyon Bakehouse 7 Grain Bread
CARAMELIZED ONIONS
  • 1 Red Onion, cut into ½ inch rings
  • 1 tsp. Tamari Sauce
  • ½ tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ tsp. Liquid Smoke
  • ½ tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • Kosher Salt, to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the liquid ingredients together. Add the onion rings and toss to coat.
  3. Place the tossed onions flat on the foiled baking sheet. Season with salt and roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping half-way through.
  4. Once the onions are browned and crisp at the edges, remove from the oven and transfer to a plate to cool slightly.
  5. Assemble four sandwiches with herbed cream cheese, scrambled eggs and caramelized onions.
